Dr. Appelbaum is a Harvard-trained, board-certified cardiologist and cardiac imaging specialist. He offers comprehensive cardiology services with a focus on preventive care, fitness and wellness. He assists in expanding MHB’s mission to deliver world-class healthcare and help men live their best possible lives. His high interest in overall physical well-being of men has led him to explore natural supplementation and the role of testosterone in cardiovascular health.
Dr. Appelbaum provides expert cardiovascular consultation with in-office diagnostic testing including stress/fitness testing, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, cardiac computed tomography (CT) and heart rhythm monitoring. Dr. Appelbaum has created an innovative approach that combines the best of classic bedside medicine with modern technology and cutting edge treatment, allowing for effective care that can be tailored to individual needs. In addition to cardiology, he has trained with Dr. Abraham Morgentaler in providing comprehensive evaluation and management of testosterone deficiency, while highlighting the positive effects of sufficient testosterone treatment.
Dr. Appelbaum has over 15 years of experience as a member of the Division of Cardiology, Non-invasive Cardiac Imaging and Testing Section at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston, MA. He served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, providing his skills as a clinician, teacher and researcher. He has co-authored many original research articles, written book chapters and lectured on topics in cardiovascular disease around the world. Dr. Appelbaum remains affiliated with BIDMC and Harvard and welcomes all existing and new patients to his practice at Men’s Health Boston.
